
- 1 cup almond butter
- 1 egg (can be omitted if you prefer a deliciously gooey brownie)
- 1/2 cup natural applesauce (no sugar added)
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9×9 baking dish with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, combine almond butter, egg, applesauce, cocoa and maple syrup. Mix with hand mixer until smooth.
Add baking soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla and mix briefly, until combined.
Stir in dark chocolate chips or chunks. Pour into prepared pan and smooth top.
Bake for 28-30 minutes. Cool for 10 – 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
