The Perfect Margarita

1. Start with homemade sour mix!

Bring 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to boil, stirring to incorporate.
Simmer for six minutes and then allow to cool completely.

Squeeze enough limes for 3/4 cup of lime juice.
Add 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Combine juices and cooled simple syrup.

2. Rim two margarita glasses!

Option 1: Combine coarse salt and Tajin on a saucer.
Run a lime slice around the edge of your glass and dip into salt mixture.

Option 2: Use sugar instead of salt if you prefer a sweet rim.

3. And now, for the perfect margarita …

Fill your glass with crushed ice to the top.

Combine 2 ounces of top shelf Tequila, 1/2 ounce of Cointreau or Triple Sec,
and 5-6 ounces of sour mix in a jar or shaker. Shake it up, baby.

Pour over ice and garnish with a lime slice.

4. Enjoy!
