Home Office

Our latest project was quick and easy, relatively speaking. When we decided to do a combo home office/laundry room space, I knew I wanted an accent wall. I chose to use Benjamin Moore Jade Romanesque which turned out beautifully, but it would be months before we had time to add the trim and picture rail.

We pulled the work station out just enough to fit behind it because we like to be as aggravated as possible while we work.

Tim figured out the math to make the nine spaces work out equally and installed the vertical trim using a heavy duty adhesive since they didn’t line up with studs. I was his right hand (wo)man as usual. I am developing a keen sense of when to jump in and when to stay out of the way based on complicated calculations involving how much he is sweating, whether or not he still has caffeine coursing through his veins, and how many times his nail gun has jammed.

After I spent several hours caulking and 5 hours painting, the wall was almost complete.

The best part comes at the end when it’s time to decorate!

A calendar, some art, and few special photos give the office space a much cozier vibe.

Welcome to our little work-in-progress in the country. As we work to put the finishing touches on our barndominium, we’ll be talking about family, food, faith, and our efforts to live a slower, more intentional life.
